Our veterans put their lives on the line to serve and defend our country, and they should never face barriers to the benefits and care they have earned. That’s why I fought to pass the Honoring our PACT Act in my first term. Signed into law by President Biden, this legislation enables veterans exposed to toxic substances to receive proper benefits and care, including our brave service members who were exposed at Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base in North Carolina.

As the proud daughter of an Air Force veteran, I know that behind each service member is a family making sacrifices every day. I am committed to giving our veterans, service members, and their families the resources and support they need to thrive.

This Congress, I reintroduced the Military Sexual Trauma Retirement Equity Act. This bipartisan legislation seeks to enable all military retirees with disabilities caused by military sexual trauma to receive their full retirement and disability compensation.

If any North Carolina veteran is experiencing difficulties accessing benefits they are owed, please don’t hesitate to contact my Raleigh office for assistance. We are here to help.
