Today, Congresswoman Deborah Ross (NC-02) released the following statement on voting to release the Epstein Files:

“After months of delays orchestrated by Donald Trump and his enablers in Congress, the House has finally voted to force the release of the Epstein files  finally giving the public a chance to see the truth. This should have happened a long time ago.

In September, I met with several survivors of Epstein’s abuse. I listened as they described the pain they have carried for years and how powerful people ignored their calls for justice. No one with an ounce of integrity can sit across from these brave women, hear what they went through, and accept more secrecy. Their courage made it even more obvious that transparency is the only path forward.

During his campaign, Donald Trump promised that he would release the files. He has the power to do that today – without the need for congressional action. We will not rest while he refuses to release the files and continues to protect the wealthy and the powerful.

“With this vote, we are one step closer to accountability, justice, and truth.”
