Raleigh, NC – Today, Congresswoman Deborah Ross (NC-02) received a briefing from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) on a planned outpatient clinic in Garner, North Carolina. The Congresswoman requested the meeting to receive an update on plans and timelines for the new facility.

VA officials indicated that the project remains on track for a 2024 opening. The new facility will provide primary care and mental health services to Wake County veterans, including specialized care for women. In addition to providing an update on the clinic, VA officials also discussed their ongoing outreach efforts in the local community and new initiatives to combat veteran suicide in North Carolina.      

Congresswoman Ross said, “Our North Carolina veterans deserve access to vital resources and care services close to home. I’m encouraged by today’s conversation on the planned outpatient clinic in Garner, which could serve approximately 25,000 veterans in the area. This clinic will provide innumerable benefits to veterans and their families. I look forward to continuing to work with the VA to improve the lives of those who have served. We owe all veterans an enormous debt of gratitude for their service to our country.”

In April, Ross sent a letter to the VA requesting a briefing on the outpatient clinic.
