Raleigh, N.C. – Today Congresswoman Deborah Ross (NC-02) requested a briefing from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) on a planned outpatient multi-specialty clinic in Garner, North Carolina. Specifically, Ross is asking for more information about the timeline for construction and the services the clinic could offer to veterans in Wake County and the surrounding area.

The letter said in part, “The planned clinic in Garner will enable veterans throughout the 2nd District to receive the care they need closer to home. I understand that construction will begin this fall, and that the clinic hopes to serve approximately 25,000 veterans annually beginning in January 2024.

“This project represents a critical investment in the health and quality of life of veterans in Wake County and the surrounding areas. Accordingly, I would appreciate the opportunity to receive a briefing on plans and timelines for construction as well as on the services that the clinic will eventually offer.”

Dear Executive Director Parrish:

I write to request a briefing on the planned construction of a new outpatient multi-specialty clinic in Garner, North Carolina. I believe this facility has the potential to deliver significant benefits to veterans in my congressional district.

The planned clinic in Garner will enable veterans throughout the 2nd District to receive the care they need closer to home. I understand that construction will begin this fall, and that the clinic hopes to serve approximately 25,000 veterans annually beginning in January 2024.

This project represents a critical investment in the health and quality of life of veterans in Wake County and the surrounding areas. Accordingly, I would appreciate the opportunity to receive a briefing on plans and timelines for construction as well as on the services that the clinic will eventually offer.

Thank you for your work on this project. I look forward to learning more about the new clinic. Again, I appreciate your commitment to providing the best possible care for our veterans in North Carolina and across the nation.

Very truly yours,
