Today, Congresswoman Deborah Ross (NC-02) released a new fact sheet highlighting historic infrastructure investments in North Carolina from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to build bridges, pave roads, expand broadband access to rural communities, and more. Congresswoman Ross fought to pass this critical legislation, which also included her provision to bolster the adoption and integration of electric vehicles into transportation and energy systems in North Carolina and nationwide.
“The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is a once-in-a-lifetime investment that will benefit future generations, and just over a year later, we are already seeing tangible differences in communities across North Carolina,” said Congresswoman Ross. “Under the leadership of President Biden, we are building a stronger future for the American people by repairing crumbling roads and bridges, expanding internet access from the mountains to the coast, creating good-paying clean energy jobs, and so much more. I’m proud to have helped pass this legislation and will continue working to ensure this funding reaches every community in North Carolina and beyond.”
The new fact sheet from the White House shows that the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law has already resulted in the following investments in North Carolina:
- $39.4 million to build out a network of EV chargers across the state.
- $106.7 million for North Carolina airports.
- $3 billion for roads, bridges, roadway safety, and other projects.
- $5 million to expand broadband to harder-to-reach communities.
- $199 million to provide clean and safe water and improve water infrastructure.
- $175.8 million to improve public transportation options across the state in FY 2022 and 2023.
