Today, Congresswoman Deborah Ross (NC-02) released the following statement regarding President Trump’s decision to cede power to unelected billionaire Elon Musk:

“Last November, the American people democratically elected 435 Representatives, 100 Senators, and one President. Nowhere on the ballot did I see Elon Musk’s name. But now, President Trump is allowing an unelected billionaire to access classified information, dictate federal funding decisions, and control federal employment.

“Musk is selling American workers and families down the river to advance his business interests, and Trump is perfectly willing to let him. The constitution doesn’t give the President or his rich friends unlimited power over how our government functions or how our tax dollars are spent. Their unconstitutional and dangerous actions are being fought by Democrats in court, in Congress, and in the media.”
