Now more than ever, Congress must enact comprehensive immigration reform that will meet North Carolina’s urgent workforce needs, keep families together and communities safe, protect all Dreamers, and ensure U.S. Customs and Border Protection has the modern tools and resources it needs.

Immigrants make our country stronger, and individuals who contribute to our country deserve a chance to stay here. That’s why I am a champion for the children of long-term visa holders, also known as “Documented Dreamers.” My bipartisan, bicameral America’s CHILDREN Act would protect these inspiring young people from aging out of the system when they turn 21, forcing them to self-deport. Provisions of this bill passed the House in my first term, and I will continue fighting to get this critical legislation signed into law.

As a member of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement, I will continue working with my colleagues to create a humane and functional immigration system.
