Today, Congresswoman Deborah Ross (NC-02) released the following statement on the Supreme Court’s decision in Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic:

“This backward decision is another major blow to women’s health care inflicted by the conservative majority on the Supreme Court. Women in South Carolina who rely on Medicaid for medical care will no longer be able to access birth control, cancer screenings, STI testing and treatments, and more at Planned Parenthood.

“I fear the consequences of this decision for states across the country – particularly in North Carolina where Republican politicians are eager to rollback women’s access to health care even further. Women will ultimately go without the vital health care services they need. We will fight these attacks on funding for Planned Parenthood and women’s access to health care every step of the way.”
