Congresswoman Ross Votes Against Republican Continuing Resolution

CR will hurt North Carolina families and veterans, including vets exposed to toxic chemicals and burn pits

Today, Congresswoman Deborah Ross (NC-02) voted against Republicans’ partisan continuing resolution (CR), which will gut critical funding for veterans’ medical care, affordable housing, and more. Click here for a detailed fact sheet.

“While Americans across the country are grappling with the fallout from Donald Trump’s harmful policies, House Republicans have handed the President and Elon Musk a blank check to continue their unchecked assault on the essential federal funding and services that millions of North Carolinians rely on.

“This legislation fails to include the necessary $22.8 billion in federal funding for the Toxic Exposures Fund, which ensures that veterans exposed to toxic chemicals – including at Camp Lejeune – and burn pits can access the comprehensive medical care they need. It’s shameful that Republicans have turned their backs on these brave women and men who faithfully served our country in uniform. Further, at a time when housing costs are rapidly increasing across Wake County, this bill slashes millions in federal housing support, which could result in the evictions of more than 32,000 households nationwide.

“The funding cuts in this bill are reckless, cruel, and shortsighted. They will have devastating consequences for North Carolina veterans, families, seniors, and more. It’s time for Republicans to come back to the table and negotiate full-year funding bills that will invest in our people and our shared future.”
