Congresswoman Deborah Ross (NC-02) released the following statement on the recent expiration of some federal aid meant for the reconstruction and recovery of Western North Carolina in the wake of Hurricane Helene:

“Just over six months ago, Hurricane Helene swept through our state and devastated hundreds of communities. As the people of Western North Carolina continue to face the long and costly road to full recovery, I strongly urge the Trump Administration to reconsider and take immediate action to extend the FEMA 100% federal reimbursement for costs eligible under the Stafford Act that was allowed to expire yesterday, March 27th. Our neighbors and friends in Western North Carolina are depending on the federal government during this difficult time, and they cannot afford to lose this vital federal aid.”
