Today, the Democratic Women’s Caucus (DWC) announced its new leadership slate for the 119th Congress. Congresswomen Deborah Ross (NC-02) and Sydney Kamlager-Dove (CA-37) will serve as Policy Task Force Co-Chairs for the DWC this Congress. Under their leadership, the DWC aims to elevate the voices – and advocate for the interests – of women and girls in America.
“I am honored to serve on the Democratic Women’s Caucus with my fantastic co-chair Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove,” said Congresswoman Deborah Ross. “With the stroke of a pen, we have seen what the new Administration can do to strip away women’s rights. Under the experienced leadership of Congresswoman Teresa Leger Fernández, we are clear-eyed and ready to get to work finding solutions to deliver real results for women and girls across North Carolina and the nation.”
“From California to North Carolina and every state in between, women and girls are facing unprecedented attacks on their fundamental rights,” said Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove. “With an abuser and abuse enabler back in the White House, the Democratic Women’s Caucus’ mission to advance equal rights, economic opportunity, and the health and safety of women and girls has never been more urgent. Under the principled leadership of Teresa Leger Fernández, I am eager to work alongside my incredible Policy Task Force Co-Chair Deborah Ross to ensure U.S. policy not only protects women and girls but empowers them to thrive.”
