U.S. Rep. Deborah Ross has announced $13.2 million in federal funding for the Wake Forest S-Line Mobility Hub through a grant from the Department of Transportation.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation, in partnership with the town of Wake Forest, will use the grant to construct a mobility hub to connect the community to various modes of transportation, including passenger rail, bus services, and pedestrian facilities.

“Once completed, the Mobility Hub will ensure easy connection for travelers using various modes of transportation, as well as improve safety for passengers transferring from one form of travel to another,” Ross’ office said in a press release.

 n December, Ross led members of the North Carolina delegation in supporting a DOT Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity Grant for the project.

“As North Carolina continues to grow, our state needs a transportation system that meets the needs of every resident,” Ross said. “This mobility hub will help connect people in Wake County to jobs, opportunities, and services. I’m grateful to DOT for prioritizing this essential funding, and I’ll continue fighting for investments that modernize our public transit, create jobs, and propel local economic growth.”

Ross was joined by Sen. Thom Tillis, Representatives Don Davis, Valerie Foushee and Richard Hudson, and former Rep. Wiley Nickel in supporting the grant.
