Today, Congresswoman Deborah Ross (NC-02) released the following statement on voting to pass a continuing resolution that will keep the federal government open until December 20, 2024:

“Once again, extremists in the Republican conference pushed us to the brink of a government shutdown, and once again, Democrats stepped in to prevent a catastrophe for the American people.” said Congresswoman Ross. “Rather than work with Democrats to pass bipartisan government funding bills, Republicans have pursued a harmful policy agenda for months that prevented this body from accomplishing real work.

“Shutting down the government for political gain is a shameful way to govern. When we return to Washington in November, I urge my Republican colleagues to finally come to the table and work with Democrats to address our nation’s priorities and pass bipartisan government funding legislation.”
