Congresswoman Deborah Ross (NC-02) joined volunteers and the Interfaith Food Shuttle and delivered meals for Meals on Wheels Wake County, serving older adults and people with disabilities across the district.

Meals on Wheels Wake County, founded in 1974, has served over 11 million meals to homebound individuals and continues to provide 1,300 noontime meals every weekday with the help of dedicated volunteers.

“The holiday season often serves as a stark reminder of the critical need to address food insecurity at home, reminding us of the importance of programs like Meals on Wheels in supporting the most vulnerable members of our community,” said Congresswoman Ross. “Programs like these are a lifeline for our seniors and people living with disabilities, providing not only a warm meal but also a sense of connection and care. This season of gratitude is an opportunity for all of us to give back and lift up our friends and neighbors.”

Meals on Wheels Wake County operates in partnership with Meals on Wheels America, a network of more than 5,000 Senior Nutrition Programs and 800,000 volunteers nationwide, all working to end senior hunger and isolation.
