Today, Congresswoman Deborah Ross (NC-02) voted to pass a Continuing Resolution to fund the government for 45 days. She released the following statement:

“After months of Republican infighting, I’m relieved that Speaker McCarthy has finally done the right thing and put a bill on the floor to temporarily avert a government shutdown. While I am disappointed that this legislation neglected key priorities, including critical aid for Ukraine, I joined an overwhelming majority of my colleagues in voting to avert a catastrophic shutdown today.

“Extreme Republicans continue to hold our government, economy, and the American people hostage in an effort to enact their harmful demands. This fight is far from over. Speaker McCarthy must stop caving to right-wing members of his party and work with Democrats to pass bipartisan appropriations legislation to meet the urgent needs of today and invest in America’s future.”
