Today, Congresswoman Deborah Ross (NC-02), member of the House Ethics Committee, voted to expel George Santos from the U.S. House of Representatives. The vote follows a comprehensive report released by the House Ethics Committee detailing egregious abuses of office by former Representative Santos.

“After a thorough, bipartisan investigation, it is clear that George Santos is unfit to serve in this body,” said Congresswoman Ross. “The Ethics Committee’s report details a clear pattern of fraud and deception and demonstrates that Mr. Santos fundamentally cannot be trusted to serve the people of New York. At every opportunity, he refused to comply with our investigation, take responsibility, or change his behavior. I voted to expel George Santos because he flagrantly violated the rules and norms of the House of Representatives, and repeatedly prioritized personal gain over respect for this institution, our Constitution, and the American people.”
