Today, Congresswoman Deborah Ross (NC-02) voted to pass a continuing resolution that will extend current government funding levels until January 19 and February 2, 2024. She released the following statement:
“Yet again, House Republicans forced us dangerously close to a government shutdown, but Democrats stayed unified and kept the federal government open. While passing another short-term funding bill certainly isn’t ideal, I voted to keep the government open because I know that the alternative is far worse.
“The constant chaos of the past year is simply no way to govern. Instead of drama and dysfunction in the House of Representatives, the American people deserve steady, dependable leadership. Now that we have ample time until our next shutdown deadline, it’s time for Republicans to stop their endless infighting, put people over politics, and start working across the aisle to address our nation’s many pressing challenges.”
