Today, Congresswoman Deborah Ross (NC-02) announced that since taking office in 2021, her district office in Raleigh has now returned over $20 million in federal benefits back to constituents and small business owners in North Carolina’s 2nd Congressional District, which includes most of Wake County.
A primary responsibility of Congresswoman Ross’ district office in Raleigh is to help Wake County residents secure backlogged Social Security checks, Veterans Affairs (VA) benefit claims, delayed Internal Revenue Service (IRS) refunds, Medicare benefits, and other federal resources. Congresswoman Ross’ office works to ensure any constituent having issues with a federal agency, program, or benefit receives fair and equitable treatment.
“Since coming to Congress, my dedicated team has fought to ensure the people of Wake County can access the resources they are owed from the federal government,” said Congresswoman Ross. “In total, I’m proud to announce that my outstanding staff and I have now delivered over $20 million back to seniors, veterans, small business owners, and other Wake County residents. Since taking office in January 2021, Congresswoman Ross’ office has closed 3,890 cases and returned a total of $20,001,022.26 back to the Wake County community.
Specifically, Congresswoman Ross’ office had closed:
- 207 cases with the IRS, returning $3,823,409.44
- 33 cases with the Social Security Administration, returning $562,680.50
- 34 cases with the Small Business Administration, returning $14,998,444
- 13 cases with the VA, returning $147,340.87
