Washington, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman Deborah Ross (NC-02) voted against the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2025. Congresswoman Ross has been fighting for the inclusion of her bipartisan legislation, The Camp Lejeune Justice Corrections Act, in the NDAA. However, the final text passed by the House did not incorporate her bill.

“The annual defense authorization presents an important opportunity to invest in our national security and in North Carolina service members, veterans, and their families,” said Congresswoman Ross. “While I strongly support much of the bill, including pay increases for our men and women in uniform, I’m extremely disappointed that the final version of the NDAA did not include the bipartisan Camp Lejeune Justice Corrections Act. This critical legislation will remove legal barriers that are preventing veterans who were exposed to contaminated water at Camp Lejeune from accessing the remedies they deserve. Our North Carolina veterans and their families deserve justice. We must pass this urgently needed legislation without delay.”
