Isabel Chang, a senior from Cary Academy, created this year’s winning piece, “The Constellation Seamstress.” The piece was chosen by a panel of arts professionals and educators from Wake County and will hang in the halls of the U.S. Capitol Building for the next year.
“The Congressional Art Competition is a tradition I look forward to every year,” said Congresswoman Ross. “This exciting competition allows students from across Wake County to express themselves creatively and tell extraordinary stories through their artwork. This year, we had a record-breaking 97 students submit their artwork, and I was blown away by their talent and ingenuity. I’m so proud to represent these phenomenal students in Congress and can’t wait to bring a piece of Wake County back to Washington with me.”

To view all the entries, click here. The first place winner will have their piece displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building for a year alongside artwork from students in all 50 states. The second place winner will hang in Congresswoman Ross’ Washington D.C. office, and third place will hang in her Raleigh office.
