Raleigh, NC – Today, U.S. Representatives Deborah Ross (NC-02) and David Price (NC-04) announced that Raleigh-Durham International Airport will receive $50,680,855 in American Rescue Plan funding to aid the airport in its economic recovery from the pandemic.

“Airports and their employees have faced immense economic hardships during the pandemic,” said Congresswoman Ross. “I’m thrilled that Raleigh-Durham International Airport will receive this urgently needed funding through the American Rescue Plan. As North Carolina and our country re-emerges from COVID-19, I will continue to fight for bold investments in our workers and our infrastructure.”

“We welcome the news that Raleigh-Durham International Airport will receive $50.6 million from the American Rescue Plan to ensure the airport can continue to serve the traveling public,” said Congressman David Price. “As Chairman of the Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee, I helped secure funding to keep our airports financially solvent and staff employed during the COVID-19 pandemic. The strain on our transportation networks continues, which only underscores the urgent need to pass the American Jobs Plan and build back better than before.”

The American Rescue Plan included $8 billion in funding for U.S. airports. Grants will be distributed through the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Airport Rescue Grants program. The funding can be used for operations support, personnel, cleaning and sanitation efforts, and more.
